Memories
Just recently I have moved from Indiana, where I was raised as a child. I’ve been left remembering why it is that photography is such a meaningful form of expression. My entire time I spent in Indiana I knew that wasn’t the place for me. Now that I have left, all I have to look back on are photos that I took during my time there.
Using my photography experience I find that being able to craft and shape my own memories and perception of experiences is one of my favorite abilities. With everything that goes into every single image in post production I alter what my camera saw, into what I felt. The way colors play together, the way light hits a subject, and everything in between are all manipulated so that I am able to evoke the feelings that experiencing these views stirred up.
I am thankful to my years of photographing the environment around me, so that now, I am free to manipulate these memories and create a feeling other than animosity towards Indiana.
